On the other end of the pendulum's swing are concerns of distraction in classroom.

This dilemma has also being experienced beyond the classroom. Parents are faced with children spending too much time on devices with addiction risks. These calls for the need of supervision and structures for usage to be put in place especially for students of primary levels.

Example of a drastic measure happened in France where ban has been ordered on children's usage of smartphones in school. Likewise in our local contexts many schools have policy governing the management and usage of mobile devices, by students within school's zone.

Additionally, we may need to ask ourselves questions, if we want to ensure that usage of technology yield it's desired effectiveness for supporting learning among our students.

  1. How can one quantify and measure the effectiveness of technologies used for supporting learning?

  2. What are the key indicators to define?

  3. Are there some common indicators that can be used across the different contexts of deployment?

  4. Do we consider benchmarking the process of the usage as well as the outcomes of learning from the support of the technologies?
