In this session, I learned how using social media can help develop our students' soft skills when working in groups. They have grown up with social media, and for many it is their way of interacting. For example, teachers can ask questions on social media such as Twitter, and students can answer those questions by providing a specific hashtag (#my4037Reflections something I just learned from my group members). Teachers can then find and review students' answers, but other students can also see what others are answering and start a discussion.
Social media can also be helpful for team projects. Many companies require their employees to have the right soft skills to work in groups. Social media can help improve these skills because students can meet and work on their projects in real time beyond school. This increases the chance that they will spend time together working on projects and not restricted specific place or time.
